Although born and raised in the city, Meredith has had a lifelong interest in animals and farming. While pursuing her career in Graphic Design, Meredith decided to step away from her desk to spend several summers working at a certified organic farm in Spencerville, Ontario. Her duties as a farm hand included working in a large greenhouse as well as caring for meat chickens, egg layers, turkeys, ducks, sheep, and cows. This experience encouraged her to explore her own sustainable agriculture interests, and in her second season at the farm, Meredith had the opportunity to raise several litters of heritage breed meat rabbits using a rotational grazing setup. She is passionate about sharing her experience and knowledge of this enjoyable, small-scale farming pursuit. It is a viable option for those with limited outdoor space to raise food for their families with little impact on the environment.
