Sylvia van Oort
In 1996, Sylvia van Oort planted a few rows of flowers in a corner of her vegetable garden. Over the course of 22 years, this small plot has blossomed into a robust agri-business that occupies more than two acres of cultivated land.
Today, Sylvia’s Plant Place grows annuals, perennials and woody plants, which she transforms into bouquets for weddings and other special occasions, as well as gifts and seasonal bouquet subscriptions. They also wholesale flowers to several area florists and grocery stores located in Perth, Westport, and Kingston.
